Eagle’s Magnum high efficiency air filter, a key factor by cutting recoverable losses in power industry

Power plant operators around the world are taking more interest in how they can improve GT efficiency, reliability and decrease CO2 emissions, through improved air intake filtration. CCGT power plants that experience high levels of contamination in incoming air, which causes fouling and subsequent significant recoverable operational losses, benefit greatly from advanced air intake filters.

Conventionally “Gas Turbine Operators” accept this fouling as a normal occurrence. “Presently power plant operators are becoming more and more aware of the economical and ecological impact that results from excessive compressor fouling. When we sum-up the total costs and emissions no utility can ignore the issue” says Antti Dufva, Head of Eagle Filters Asian operations.

The “Magnum” air filter has been developed to replace regular compact cell fine filters in OCGT and CCGT –power plants. The Magnum can be operated in the harshest of conditions and airflows. Magnum enables the operators to upgrade GT air intake  filtration to a level where the compressor fouling, production losses and degradation of efficiency can be minimized. The new patent pending aerodynamic design enables reliable action in all environmental conditions.
