Cleantech Finland® brand launched globally in wide-scale environmental conference in India
Developed to support of Finnish cleantech business, the Cleantech Finland brand will be launched internationally in the Delhi Sustainable Development Summit in India in early February.
The Delhi Sustainable Development Summit brings together the world's environmental decision-makers in 5-7 February, 2009. Organized in context with the summit, the second International Climate Change Exhibition will display the know-how of environmental technology or cleantech companies from around the world.
In the exhibition, Finland will launch the Cleantech Finland brand, developed to support of Finnish cleantech business, to make Finland the best known cleantech country in its potential market areas by 2012.
Finnish cleantech companies in the exhibition include: Cargotec, Desinfinator, Ehovoc, Naturpolis, Nokia, Outotec, ST1 Biofuels, Vaisala and VTT.
Finnish know-how — hard currency in India
The purpose of the brand Cleantech Finland is to enhance national and international interest groups' awareness of Finnish cleantech companies. Another goal is to present Finland as an accountable country of high technology and environmental know-how, a country worth investing in and establishing businesses.
“We want to create awareness of Finnish cleantech know-how which, in many respects, is already top-ranked globally. We also want to highlight the reliability of Finnish cleantech companies,” says Santtu Hulkkonen, Cleantech Finland Program Director from Finpro.
The design of the Cleantech Finland pavilion, presented for the first time in Delhi, is inspired by the Finnish pavilion ”Kirnu”('churn') of the 2010 World Fair in Shanghai. The pavilion provides an impressive framework for displaying Finnish cleantech companies.
“The core idea of the Cleantech Finland brand is to enhance actual business operations. Therefore our main objective in Delhi is to create a solid base for the companies' future customer relationships,” Hulkkonen says.
Finpro has already started clearing the way for Finnish cleantech companies in the Indian markets:
“We've been assessing the potential of Finnish companies in the Indian markets. Our assets include flexibility, reliability and transparency. Our greatest asset is, of course, our clean nature in Finland,” says Seppo Keränen, Regional Manager, Finpro India.
