Chile’s energy efficiency program visited Finland to gain cleantech know-how

The target of the visit was to develop good business models with industrial sector in energy efficiency in Chile.

Chile’s efficiency program is looking for business models for energy efficiency at industry level, in order to develop their own model in Chile. Chile is very interested in consultancies, public instruments oriented to energy efficiency in enterprises, training process for consultants and consultants register.

Energy efficiency development was presented from different perspectives during the visit. The visitors heard viewpoints of energy efficiency agency Motiva, energy efficiency consultants and companies who have participated in energy efficiency programs and done improvements. Motiva gave viewpoints from example on auditing, certification of consultants, creation and coordination of programs, influencing politics and information work.

The visiting team was especially interested in the energy efficiency development programs from economical viewpoint and connected business models than technological solutions. Also financing was an important theme during the visit, because it plays a significant role in energy efficiency programs – there should be clear rules and it should motivate industry for saving energy as well as consultants for energy efficiency auditing.
